Project objectives

It was necessary to create a solution for the museum that would not only facilitate navigation through the multiplex complexes, but also provide visitors with access to interactive materials about the works and exhibits. The Indoors Navigation Platform provided:

  • Navigation: The system allowed visitors to build routes around the museum, easily find exhibits of interest and navigate from one exhibition to another.
  • Interactive interaction: Visitors could receive information about the works using a mobile application, scanning QR codes, or using interactive maps.
  • Inclusivity: Indoors Navigation has taken into account the needs of low-mobility groups by providing special routes with access to elevators and ramps.

Usage examples

  • Mobile App: Visitors could download the app on their smartphones and use it to navigate the museum. The app provided detailed information about each hall and exhibit, accompanied by audio and video materials.
  • QR codes and a web widget: QR codes were placed on stands next to the exhibits for visitors who did not want to install the application. By scanning the code, the user received information about the work, and could also set a route to the objects of interest through a web widget.
  • Routes for MGN: The Indoors Navigation Platform offered specialized routes for low-mobility groups of the population, which ensured accessibility of the museum for all categories of visitors.

Potential metrics

  • Increased interaction time with the exhibition: According to the analysis, the introduction of the Indoors Navigation Platform increased the average time spent by visitors in the museum by 20%, due to the convenience of using interactive materials.
  • Increased customer satisfaction: The system has improved the user experience, which has led to a 30% increase in positive reviews, as well as reduced the burden on tour guides.
  • Reducing the time spent searching for objects: Navigation through the Indoors Navigation Platform has reduced the time spent by visitors searching for the right halls and exhibits by an average of 35%.

Implementation results

The introduction of the Indoors Navigation Platform at the Pushkin State Museum has made visiting the museum more convenient and informative. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the exhibits on their own, which increased their engagement and interest in the presented works. The system also facilitated the work of museum staff by relieving them of frequent inquiries about routes and locations of objects.

The mobile app

Using the mobile application, you can easily navigate through the halls, find exhibits of interest and receive information about exhibitions.

The museum's interactive map helps you set routes based on your interests. The app also offers personalized guided tours and audio guides, allowing you to delve deeper into the world of art. Additional features such as notifications about new exhibitions and augmented reality will make your visit to the museum even more exciting.

Conclusion

The INP project has proven its effectiveness in cultural institutions such as the Pushkin State Museum. The system improves interaction with the exposition, makes navigation convenient and inclusive for all categories of visitors.
