Smart combination of Wi-Fi RTT and PDR

The system uses a multiparticle filter that combines Wi-Fi RTT with Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR)— an algorithm for calculating coordinates based on inertial sensors. This ensures smooth, continuous, and stable position detection even with temporary signal loss.

The minimum delay is less than 1 second.

In dynamic scenarios, the tests show a positioning delay of no more than one second, which is critical for real—time tasks, from employee navigation to asset and wealth search.

Integration into existing network infrastructure

To launch Wi-Fi RTT, you need to install new equipment with support for this RTT technology — it works on a limited number of WiFi access points. This does not allow you to scale the system quickly.

Rapid implementation and updating of equipment

Unfortunately, it is not possible to work on the existing Wi-Fi infrastructure. The system requires the installation of new Wi-Fi RTT enabled devices. Also, user devices must support wifi rtt.

This technology does not work on Apple (iOS) devices. RTT Wi-Fi technology is only supported by modern Android devices (9+). Indoors Navigation adapts the solution to specific scenarios depending on the task at hand.

Why Wi-Fi RTT navigation is applicable despite its limitations

Unlike BLE, WiFi, and GPS, Wi-Fi RTT provides good indoor positioning accuracy and stability, allowing businesses to efficiently manage processes, resources, and space. This technology is already becoming the standard for modern indoor navigation equipment.

Wi-Fi RTT requires IEEE 802.11mc support, so the technology is only available on a limited number of devices. This reduces the flexibility of the implementation and may require hardware upgrades for the correct operation of the system.

For accurate positioning, it is necessary to have several access points located in the line of sight. Obstacles and reflections of the signal in the rooms can lead to an increase in measurement error.

The accuracy of the technology depends on the environment, especially on the type of wall and floor materials. In conditions of strong interference or dense buildings, the error can reach several meters, which reduces navigation efficiency.

Increased power consumption with constant RTT measurements can significantly affect the operating time of mobile devices, especially when using the positioning function for a long time.
